Getting the scales epoxied and clamped brings us to Shawn's Shop Lesson of the day:
When your safety glasses get so scratched up that you find yourself taking them off so you can see better, you MUST REPLACE THEM IMMEDIATELY.
I failed to do so. And because of that I was removing them more and more often for what I thought were less dangerous tasks.
That ended up biting me in the ass today. As I was chasing down any errant epoxy with an acetone soaked Q-tip, I inadvertently flicked acetone right into my unprotected eye.
Needless to say, this was quite unpleasant. Fortunately, a water hose was only feet away, so I was able to quickly and thoroughly wash my eyes out.
